Pride Festival

The festival draws a lot of creative and open-minded folks who enjoy the safe place to be themselves and their energy is contagious. Our team worked very smoothly together. We had time to get to know each other while we were setting up and doing the outreach. Jace was an amazing help getting the shade awning in place and then getting things loaded for the return trip to the meeting house.
The free cold water and canned drinks were a big draw, but people were also interested in us – particularly our catch phrase “Love Thy Neighbor – No Exceptions”.
Perhaps it was a good thing we were not stationed with all the other church groups. Instead, we were next to Planned Parenthood and on our other side there was a booth selling natural body products. So people were curious about who we were and didn’t make the assumption we were another church group. Most of our handouts were taken by the end of the day.
I’m glad I got to be on this team. We had a lot of fun
